US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has revealed its intentions to establish its largest design center in Bengaluru, with an investment of approximately $400 million over the next five years. The announcement was made by AMD's Chief Technology Officer, Mark Papermaster, during the annual semiconductor conference in Gujarat, which commenced on July 28.

The new design center is slated to open its doors in Bengaluru before the year's end, and its establishment is expected to create 3,000 engineering positions within the span of five years. Papermaster emphasized the significance of their India teams in delivering high-performance and adaptive solutions that cater to AMD's global clientele.

AMD's latest expansion in India will be a state-of-the-art campus covering 500,000 square feet, making it the newest addition to the company's presence in the country.
