Tech Mahindra CEO C P Gurnani has said that AI - which he calls 'applied intelligence' - will wipe out as many as one-third jobs from certain sections in the IT sector, though there will be new jobs that will be created as companies innovate with higher efficiencies.
"The best prediction is 20-30% of the jobs that are today in three years - whether they are in call centres, whether they are in software testing, one-third of the jobs will definitely go. But will it expand the market, and will it allow us to innovate?
My belief is yes, it will. And, the only way to be ahead of the curve is by being relevant," Gurnani said at The Times of India Right To Excellence - Tech Summit 2023.
