"Mark Your Calendar for Apple's Wonderlust Event on September 12 at 10:30 pm IST: Insights from Tech Experts Michael Josh and Nishant Padhiar on What to Expect"
Discussing the potential upgrades in the iPhone 15 series this year, Padhiar expressed his anticipation for improved Zoom capabilities, particularly in the Pro models, which have been rumored to offer 6X Zoom. He noted that Apple has room for improvement in Zoom quality compared to competitors like Samsung and suggested that this might be addressed with the introduction of a periscope lens in the iPhone 15 Pro.
In addition to the iPhone, Apple is expected to unveil the second generation of the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Josh acknowledged that the existing Apple Watch Ultra already boasts impressive features, providing detailed reports on physical and sleep health. He speculated that the forthcoming Apple Watch Ultra 2 might not revolutionize battery life or display quality, which are already excellent, but could instead focus on enhanced integration with other Apple products and variables.
Josh also mentioned the possibility of an action button being introduced for the iPhone, allowing users to initiate and terminate runs with a simple button press. He suggested that having a programmable button on both iPhones and smaller Apple watches would be a welcome addition.
Apple unveiled its inaugural mixed reality headset during WWDC earlier this year. When discussing the headset, Padhiar remarked, 'It's been nearly five months since we first witnessed the prototypes and functioning models of the Vision Pro. The demonstrations were truly remarkable. In fact, some of the experiences they couldn't showcase during the keynote because they simply wouldn't translate well on a 2D screen, whether it's your laptop or TV. These were the kinds of experiences we were fortunate enough to witness when we had the Vision Pro on ourselves.'
Josh suggested that Apple should provide consumers with an early experience option for the Vision Pro, allowing them to make informed decisions before making a purchase. He stated to Tech Today, 'I believe what Apple should do is start offering the option to schedule a demo at an Apple Store. This way, the public can book a time slot, visit the store, and try it out. I think people really need to see how it fits and feels, especially if they're considering spending $3,000 on a new gadget they've never encountered before.'
While Josh believes that Apple is unlikely to announce any major surprises this year beyond the rumored devices, Padhiar anticipates that Apple's 'one more thing' might be the second generation of the AirPods Pro Max headset, which was initially launched in 2020.
Google Pixel phones are viewed as potential competitors to iPhones, and the upcoming Pixel 8 series is scheduled to launch on October 5. The question arises: does it have the capability to challenge iPhones? In response to this, Josh commented, 'Pixels are exceptional devices and enjoy a dedicated fan base, particularly within the tech community. It's worth noting that in 2023, while Google has increased its marketing efforts for the Pixel and Pixel Fold, it may still not be sufficient.'
When asked about the possibility of iPhone models becoming more affordable this year due to Apple's focus on India, which includes extensive manufacturing in the country and the opening of new stores, Padhiar remarked, 'It involves the entire supply chain. Anyone in the luxury or tech industry knows that the prices of raw components and materials, as well as their distribution, have significantly risen over the past 2-3 years. I don't anticipate a substantial price change because Apple typically cushions its prices against currency devaluations to maintain stability. However, we may see a noticeable reduction, possibly in the range of 20-25%, in the prices of older models."
