"Mark Mobius, a renowned figure in emerging markets investment, expressed his optimism about the BSE Sensex potentially reaching 100,000 in the next five years, even as Indian stock markets experience significant volatility and corrections along the way. He shared these insights during his presentation at the Morningstar Investment Conference."

"Mobius emphasized the inevitability of market downturns and his appreciation for such opportunities to make value investments when prices are lower. He stated that he keeps cash reserves on hand to capitalize on these moments."

"What's noteworthy is that Mobius, the founder of Mobius Capital Partners, a global investment firm active in approximately 70 countries, pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic presented excellent buying opportunities.

It's worth noting that the benchmark Sensex hit a low of 25,638.90 in March 2020 before concluding the year at 47,751.33.

Shifting focus, he remarked that the Indian economy's prospects are quite promising due to factors like diversity and demographics.

"We are highly enthusiastic about India. India represents the second largest portion of our portfolio in terms of country exposure, and we have realized significant gains in India over the past few years," he stated.

"We are genuinely excited about the Indian economy and the companies operating within it. India's diversity, often characterized by its multitude of languages and regional differences, is actually a strength. The level of creativity is astounding, and more importantly, the young population's substantial adoption of technology is a significant driver for the future. I believe that India's future is exceptionally bright," Mobius explained.
