WEF2024: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed that the investor-friendly approach of the new Telangana government, coupled with planned policies, is expected to draw increased investments. Adani Group is poised for continued rapid growth in Telangana under the current environment.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, announced a substantial investment of Rs 12,400 crore across various sectors in Telangana during a meeting with the newly elected Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the World Economic Forum in Davos. A delegation from Telangana, led by D Sridhar Babu, Minister of ITE&C and Industries, exchanged four MoUs with Adani Group officials.
Adani Group has ambitious projects underway, including a Rs 5,000 crore investment by Adani Green Energy for two pumped storage projects with a combined capacity of 1350 MW in the state.
AdaniConneX Data Centers is set to invest Rs 5,000 Crores in a Data Center campus in Chandanvelly, boasting a total capacity of 100 MW. Additionally, Ambuja Cements plans a Rs 1,400 crore investment in a Cement Grinding unit with a capacity of 6.0 MTPA in the state.
Adani Aerospace and Defence is earmarked to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Counter Drone Systems and Missile Development and Manufacturing Centres at the Adani Aerospace and Defence Park.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, remarked, "The new government in Telangana has been exceptionally investor-friendly, and with the planned policies, it is poised to attract more investments. Adani Group will sustain its rapid growth in Telangana as facilitated."
The Adani Group has been advocating Hyderabad as the emerging hub for manufacturing missiles and unmanned vehicles, initially announcing an additional investment of Rs 1,500 crore over the next two to three years.
Previously, the Adani Group declared its foray into the production of long-range missiles, naval missiles, next-generation anti-radiation missiles, and Rudram-2 hypersonic missiles in Hyderabad. Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, stated, "Unmanned systems for both ground and water are the next strategic focus for the Adani group."
He further mentioned the group's involvement in the MAKE-2 program for the Indian Navy, with a specific emphasis on developing an unmanned ground vehicle aimed at alleviating infantry stress.
Indian Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar recently revealed the Drishti 10 Starliner Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, which is domestically produced by Adani Defence and Aerospace. The unveiling took place at Adani's Aerospace Park in Hyderabad, and the UAV is slated to undertake a flight from Hyderabad to Porbandar before being incorporated into naval maritime operations.
Earlier this month, Adani Group engaged in discussions with the Telangana government regarding the establishment of a data center and aerospace park within the state. The Adani Group delegation, led by CEO of Adani Ports and SEZs Karan Adani and CEO of Defence and Aerospace Ashish Rajvanshi, met with CM Reddy.
During the meeting, the chief minister assured that the state government is committed to providing the necessary amenities, infrastructure, and subsidies to support new industries, fostering industrial growth, and generating additional employment opportunities.
