Ola has introduced its e-bike services in Delhi and Hyderabad, with plans to expand to Bengaluru.
The ride-hailing platform has disclosed the pricing for its e-bike services, starting at Rs.25 for 5 km, Rs.50 for 10 km, and Rs.75 for 15 km, according to an official statement. The company intends to deploy 10,000 electric two-wheelers in Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru over the next two months.
Ola has already established 200 charging stations in Bengaluru for its e-bike fleet and aims to scale up its service nationwide by the end of the year.
Following a successful e-bike taxi pilot in Bangalore, Ola's CEO, Hemant Bakshi, expressed the company's commitment to creating a larger market for e-bike taxis in India. With this initiative, Ola asserts its position as the country's largest electric vehicle two-wheeler fleet provider.
The move aligns with Ola's vision of serving one billion Indians and contributing to nationwide electrification. Electrification, according to Bakshi, is a key factor in enhancing affordability in the mobility sector. Ola, which claims to have completed over 1.75 million e-bike rides to date, also emphasizes its growth strategy, focusing on ride-hailing, financial services, logistics, and e-commerce.
