Several users on the ICICI Bank iMobile app have reported being able to access details of other customers, including credit card information belonging to individuals they do not know.

This issue is of serious concern as it poses a risk of fraudulent misuse of credit card details, particularly for overseas transactions, given that the app displays complete card numbers, expiration dates, and CVVs, and allows users to adjust settings for foreign transactions.

It is important for anyone experiencing this issue to promptly report it to prevent any potential misuse.

ICICI Bank has acknowledged the technical glitch, stating that approximately 17,000 newly issued credit cards were erroneously linked to incorrect users through digital channels, constituting about 0.1% of the bank's credit card portfolio.

Immediate measures have been taken to block these cards and issue replacements to affected customers.

The bank assures customers that appropriate compensation will be provided for any financial losses resulting from this incident.

Social media platforms, particularly Twitter, have been flooded with concerns raised by ICICI Bank customers regarding this glitch on the iMobile app.

Users have shared their experiences of being able to view other customers' credit card details and have highlighted the potential risks associated with this security lapse.

ICICI Bank has responded to these concerns, urging affected customers to contact them directly for assistance.

Additionally, customers are advised to report any instances of fraud to the National Cyber Crime authorities or ICICI Bank's helpline.

The bank has also provided a list of precautions for safe mobile banking, including setting up PINs/passwords for device access, updating contact information for alerts, and being cautious while accessing URLs and downloading apps.

It is crucial for users to remain vigilant and follow the recommended security measures to protect their personal and financial information while using mobile banking services.

In conclusion, the reported glitch in the ICICI Bank iMobile app, allowing users to access other customers' sensitive information such as credit card details, raises significant security concerns.

ICICI Bank has taken steps to address the issue by blocking affected cards and issuing replacements while assuring affected customers of appropriate compensation for any financial losses.

However, the incident underscores the importance of robust security measures in digital banking platforms.

Users are urged to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activity promptly, and follow best practices to safeguard their personal and financial information while using mobile banking services.
