Synopsis : Accenture LearnVantage and IIT Madras’s CAAR have teamed up to upskill professionals for the fast-growing software-defined vehicle (SDV) domain. The initiative aims to prepare OEMs and GCCs with talent capable of driving innovations in advanced driver assistance, connected systems, and automotive cybersecurity.
Accenture LearnVantage and the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR) at IIT Madras have announced a strategic collaboration to build a pipeline of skilled talent in the software-defined vehicle (SDV) domain. Through Accenture’s LearnVantage SDV Academy, the initiative aims to address the industry's urgent need for professionals proficient in developing advanced automated driving technology, electrical and electronic architecture, and connected infotainment systems.
The program will offer domain-specific modules covering advanced IoT, embedded systems, vehicle safety, AUTOSAR, Automotive SPICE, cloud virtualisation, and cybersecurity, delivered through a blend of self-paced and instructor-led sessions by IIT Madras faculty and Accenture experts. This initiative is designed specifically for automotive OEMs and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to transform their workforce and align them with the digital future of mobility.
Accenture Research projects the software-defined digital services market will reach $3.5 trillion, accounting for 40% of the global automotive industry's revenues by 2040, reflecting the urgency for digital-native, interdisciplinary talent in the sector.
Kishore Durg, Global Lead of Accenture LearnVantage, emphasised that as vehicles evolve into sophisticated software-driven systems, equipping talent with skills in AI, ML, cybersecurity, and safety systems will be critical for OEMs and GCCs. Krishnan Balasubramanian, Professor in charge of CAAR, IIT Madras, highlighted that this academia-industry partnership creates a win-win model, enabling upskilling in emerging domains like SDVs. Thiruppathy Srinivasan, CEO of CAAR, noted that the SDV space demands new digital skills and a larger skilled talent pool, making this partnership a timely move to bridge the evolving industry’s talent gap.
This collaboration adds to the existing partnership between Accenture and IIT Madras in areas like autonomous robotics, IIoT, and digital twin systems while aligning with TalentSprint’s advanced certification programs under Accenture LearnVantage, further strengthening India’s deep-tech skilling ecosystem for the automotive future.
