Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal met Anne-Laure Parrical de Chammard, Member of the Executive Board of Siemens Energy, in Berlin to explore new avenues of cooperation in developing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy systems.
Sharing details of the meeting on Friday, Goyal posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“Pleased to meet Ms. Anne-Laure Parrical de Chammard, Member of the Executive Board, @Siemens_Energy. Our discussions focused on deepening collaboration for building more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy systems.”
The Union Minister added that Siemens Energy’s expertise in reducing emissions and modernizing power infrastructure aligns perfectly with India’s clean energy transition goals and industrial growth ambitions.
The talks centred on identifying key areas where global engineering companies like Siemens Energy could collaborate with India’s fast-growing renewable and manufacturing sectors, including wind, solar, and grid innovation technologies.
During his Berlin visit, Goyal also interacted with the Indian community, acknowledging their vital role in strengthening India’s global presence. He wrote:
“Delighted to interact with the vibrant Indian community in Berlin. We are proud of their achievements across sectors. Called upon them to continue being partners in India’s growth and catalysts for deeper India-Germany ties.”
Apart from Siemens Energy, the Minister held high-level meetings with several global leaders — including Morten Wierod, CEO of ABB Group, where discussions focused on India’s advancements in manufacturing, infrastructure, and clean energy.
In another significant meeting, Goyal engaged with Bernard Mensah, President of International for Bank of America, to discuss expanding India–US financial cooperation and strengthening the investment ecosystem in India.
Additionally, he met Rene Obermann, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Airbus, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in aerospace and technology. Goyal highlighted Airbus’s confidence in India’s growth story, particularly its engineering talent, policy reforms, and improving ease of doing business.
These meetings reflect India’s strategic approach to building global alliances across energy, manufacturing, finance, and technology — aligning with the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and a sustainable growth-driven economy.
