Synopsis: The government has instructed all authorised banks to issue monthly pension slips to every central civil pensioner and family pensioner. This step aims to ensure transparency, timely information, and smoother grievance redressal for pension beneficiaries.
In a major move to enhance transparency and improve pension-related services, the Department of Pension & Pensioner’s Welfare (DoPPW) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has issued a new directive instructing all authorised banks to provide monthly pension slips to every central civil pensioner and family pensioner.
According to the latest Office Memorandum (OM) released by the DoPPW, the department highlighted that despite earlier instructions, numerous grievances are still being received from pensioners regarding non-receipt of pension payment slips. These slips are crucial for pensioners as they contain essential details such as monthly pension credited, deductions, tax information, arrears, Dearness Relief, and other revisions.
The government has now reiterated that all Centralised Pension Processing Centres (CPPCs) of authorised banks must invariably issue pension slips every month, immediately after pension or family pension is credited. The memo emphasises that the slips should be sent through all available modes, including email, SMS, or other communication tools supported by the bank.
Additionally, in cases where pensioners have not provided an email address, banks have been instructed to collect the email ID from them to enable digital delivery of the pension slip. This step not only modernises the pension documentation process but also ensures faster and more accessible communication for senior citizens and family pension beneficiaries.
The government's push aims to ensure better service delivery, reduce confusion regarding pension computations, and provide pensioners with transparent and timely updates every month.
With this directive, pensioners can expect improved communication and fewer issues related to missing or unclear pension details—making the entire process more streamlined and pensioner-friendly.
