Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has reported a remarkable performance for May 2026, registering total vehicle sales of 99,636 units, reflecting a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. The growth highlights the company's continued momentum across its automotive and farm equipment businesses.
The company's Utility Vehicle (UV) segment remained a key growth driver, with domestic SUV sales reaching 58,021 units, marking an 11% rise year-on-year. Including exports, total UV sales stood at 59,573 units. Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market also delivered a strong performance, increasing by 19% to 24,079 units.
Commenting on the achievement, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra's Automotive Division, stated that sustained demand across the company's vehicle portfolio continues to support growth. However, he noted that supply chain challenges caused by manpower shortages at select suppliers remain a constraint.
Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business also witnessed impressive growth. Domestic tractor sales climbed 23% to 47,845 units in May 2026, compared to 38,914 units during the same month last year. Total tractor sales, including exports, reached 49,695 units, while exports alone stood at 1,850 units, registering a 7% increase.
According to Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business, the strong tractor demand was fueled by the timely completion of Rabi harvesting and favorable economic conditions for farmers. These factors significantly boosted rural demand and contributed to the company's exceptional monthly performance.
With strong consumer demand in both urban and rural markets, Mahindra continues to strengthen its position as one of India's leading automotive and agricultural equipment manufacturers.
