While an overseas fund accumulated a significant stake in Sonata Software through a bulk deal, Renaissance Global witnessed institutional interest after a stake purchase by one of the world's leading educational institutions.


Polunin Fund acquires Sonata Software shares

Sonata Software attracted attention after Polunin Emerging Markets Small Cap Fund LLC purchased 19.21 lakh shares through a bulk deal at an average price of Rs 295.12 per share.

The transaction was executed on June 16, according to exchange data.

In a separate transaction, Microcurves Trading Pvt Ltd bought 14.46 lakh shares at Rs 300.03 per share and sold 14.47 lakh shares at Rs 300.32 per share.

The bulk deal comes amid a strong recovery in Sonata Software's stock price over recent weeks.

Despite slipping over 2% in early trade, the stock has gained nearly 17% over the last five sessions and has delivered a similar return over the past month.

However, the IT stock remains down around 16% in 2026 so far and has declined nearly 27% over the last one year.

Sonata Software, which operates across cloud services, enterprise applications, analytics, and digital transformation solutions, continues to trade below its 52-week high of Rs 452.80. The stock had touched a 52-week low of Rs 207.15 during the same period.


MIT buys stake in Renaissance Global

Renaissance Global also witnessed fresh institutional participation after the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) acquired 16.40 lakh shares through a bulk deal at Rs 106.58 per share.

Following the disclosure, Renaissance Global shares gained nearly 4% in early trade.

The stock has delivered impressive momentum recently, rising more than 22% in the last five trading sessions and approximately 19% over the past month.

Despite the recent rally, Renaissance Global remains down around 6% year-to-date in 2026.

The company operates in the jewellery and luxury lifestyle segment and has evolved into a global jewellery design and manufacturing player serving international markets.

Its 52-week high stands at Rs 147.90, while the 52-week low is Rs 85.
