Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Air India's Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the airline's proactive efforts to redefine its position within the aviation industry.

Air India launched the "SOAR" program (Spirit of Aviation Reimagined) to hire students from business schools as part of its expansion strategy. The airline, owned by the Tata Group, pointed out that SOAR stands out as a distinctive student program in the aviation field. Its goal is to introduce new talent to the complexities of the aviation industry and bolster Air India's workforce.

Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Air India's Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the airline's active endeavor to reshape its position within the aviation industry.

Tripathi expressed, "Air India is actively redefining its position in the aviation sector, and our engagement with prominent campuses across the nation goes beyond traditional recruitment. SOAR functions as a platform that mutually benefits the industry, academia, and students."

The airline, presently undergoing a five-year transformation under the Tata Group's leadership, disclosed that their talent acquisition efforts in the past year garnered considerable interest from the industry and esteemed educational institutions. In a mere week, their initial recruitment campaign for postgraduate management roles drew 25,000 applicants.

Air India, with approximately 15,000 employees, announced that Team Horizon from IIM Bangalore won the first edition of SOAR. Team JMH, representing IMT Ghaziabad, became the first runners-up, and teams "Republic of Restless" from IIM Shillong and "Horizon" from IIFT jointly secured the second runners-up position. The competition featured participation from 27 business schools.

This talent acquisition strategy follows Air India's substantial order of 470 aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing, with the delivery schedule commencing this November. The Tata Group assumed ownership of Air India from the government in January of the previous year, with the intent of rejuvenating the airline.
