The government has officially started crediting 8.25% interest on Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) accounts for the financial year 2024–25, bringing relief to crores of salaried individuals. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya confirmed that ?4,000 crore in interest has already been credited to 96.51% of member accounts.
Updating annual accounts for over 1.4 million establishments and nearly 33.5 crore EPF accounts was a major task this year. By July 8, interest had been credited in over 32.4 crore accounts, covering 99.9% of establishments, according to official figures.
Wondering if your PF account has been credited? Here are four easy ways to check your EPF balance from the comfort of your home:
1. Check EPF Balance Online:
- Visit: epfindia.gov.in
- Enter UAN, password, and captcha
- Go to e-Passbook
- Select your Member ID to view your balance and interest
2. Check via UMANG App:
- Download and open the UMANG App
- Click on EPFO > Employee Centric Services > View Passbook
- Enter your UAN and password
- Verify with OTP
- View your updated EPF balance
3. Check via SMS:
- Send EPFOHO UAN from your registered mobile number to 7738299899
- You'll receive your balance details via SMS
4. Check via Missed Call:
- Dial 011-22901406 from your UAN-registered mobile number
- Your balance details will be sent via SMS automatically
With most accounts already updated, if you haven't seen your interest credited yet, it's likely to reflect shortly. Ensure your UAN is linked and active, and your mobile number is updated to access these services.
