In a groundbreaking move, Priya Nair has been appointed as the CEO and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), making her the first woman in the company’s 92-year legacy to assume the top leadership role. Nair will officially take over from Rohit Jawa on August 1, 2025, and will join the HUL Board while remaining part of Unilever's global Leadership Executive.
Currently serving as President of Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, Nair brings over 30 years of rich industry experience, having started her journey with HUL in 1995. From managing iconic brands like Rin, Dove, and Comfort to leading customer development and heading major divisions in South Asia, her rise through the ranks has been marked by consistent excellence.
Nair holds an MBA in Marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, and a BCom from Sydenham College, along with completing an advanced management program from Harvard Business School.
HUL Chairman Nitin Paranjpe praised the appointment, stating,
“Priya has had an outstanding career in HUL and Unilever. With her deep understanding of the Indian market and excellent track record, she is well-placed to lead HUL into its next chapter of growth and performance.”
