Markets March Higher: Sensex Gains 300 Points, Nifty Near 25,950 as Titan, Tata Steel Hit Fresh Highs

Indian stock markets extended their upward momentum on Tuesday, supported by positive global cues and a softer trend in precious metal prices. A strong rally across Asia-Pacific markets lifted investor sentiment, helping domestic benchmarks trade comfortably in the green through the morning session.

As of 10:00 AM, the Nifty 50 was trading at 25,954.85, up 86 points or 0.32%, while the BSE Sensex rose 261 points or 0.31% to 84,326.80. Buying interest was seen across heavyweight stocks, with Titan and Tata Steel touching fresh record highs, underscoring continued confidence in quality large-cap names.

On the Sensex, Eternal, Axis Bank, Trent, NTPC, Titan, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma, and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers, providing solid support to the benchmarks. The broader market also mirrored the upbeat tone, with the Nifty MidCap index advancing 0.37% and the Nifty SmallCap index rising 0.44%, indicating improved risk appetite beyond frontline stocks.

Sectorally, metal stocks outperformed, with the Nifty Metal index gaining over 1%, aided by firm global cues and expectations of stable demand. In contrast, PSU banking stocks lagged, making the Nifty PSU Bank index the weakest performer of the session.

Investor focus also remains firmly on the Q3 earnings season, with several prominent companies—including Titan Company, United Breweries, Torrent Power, and others—scheduled to announce results today. On the primary market front, IPO activity continued to draw attention, with Fractal Analytics and Aye Finance entering their second day of subscription, while select SME issues move toward closure.

With global sentiment supportive and earnings updates driving stock-specific action, market participants are watching closely to see whether the ongoing rally can sustain its momentum in the sessions ahead.
