Highway Infrastructure Ltd announced that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the operation and collection of user fees at the Kozhinjipatti Fee Plaza located on the Dindigul-Samayanallur section of National Highway-44 in Tamil Nadu. The contract has been awarded at a value of Rs 28.69 crore and will remain valid for a period of 90 days.

Under the agreement, the company will be responsible for operating the toll plaza, collecting user fees from commuters and commercial vehicles, and maintaining the associated infrastructure. The scope of work also includes the upkeep of adjacent facilities, ensuring smooth functioning of toll operations and replenishment of consumable materials required for day-to-day operations.

The Kozhinjipatti Fee Plaza is situated on NH-44, India's longest national highway, which stretches from Srinagar to Kanyakumari and serves as one of the country's busiest transportation corridors. The Tamil Nadu section connects Madurai with several southern districts and carries substantial passenger traffic, freight movement and tourism-related transportation throughout the year.

The company believes that securing this contract will further strengthen its toll operations portfolio while enhancing revenue visibility over the contract period. The project also expands Highway Infrastructure's operational footprint in South India, complementing its existing presence across multiple states.

Highway Infrastructure currently operates in diverse infrastructure segments, including toll collection, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, and real estate development. The company has been steadily increasing its participation in government infrastructure projects, positioning itself as an execution-focused player in the road infrastructure sector.

Commenting on the development, Arun Kumar Jain, Managing Director of Highway Infrastructure Ltd, said the new contract reflects the confidence that leading infrastructure authorities such as NHAI have in the company's operational capabilities. He added that the order further strengthens Highway Infrastructure's tollway collection portfolio while reinforcing its reputation for efficient project execution.

Winning projects from NHAI also provides companies with opportunities to build long-term relationships with government agencies, improving their chances of securing similar contracts in the future. As India continues to invest heavily in highway development and road infrastructure, toll operation and maintenance contracts remain an important source of recurring business for infrastructure service providers.

The latest contract comes amid continued expansion of India's national highway network, where efficient toll management plays a key role in maintaining traffic flow, improving road maintenance and supporting infrastructure financing. With increasing highway usage across the country, operators with established execution capabilities are expected to benefit from future contract opportunities.

Following the announcement, shares of Highway Infrastructure Ltd were trading around Rs 44.25 on the BSE during morning trade, reflecting a marginal movement. Investors will closely monitor the company's ability to secure additional toll operation contracts as it continues expanding its infrastructure services portfolio.
