Indian equity benchmarks opened sharply higher on Friday, buoyed by supportive global market signals, even as markets remain on track to close the week lower for the third consecutive session. Broad-based buying lifted sentiment across sectors, pushing headline indices firmly into positive territory.
At around 10:00 AM, the BSE Sensex surged 498.40 points (0.59%) to 84,980.21, while the NSE Nifty50 climbed 147.30 points (0.58%) to trade at 25,957.20, inching closer to the psychologically important 26,000 mark.
Stocks in Focus
Among the Sensex constituents, TMPV, Reliance Industries, BEL, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Eternal, and TCS emerged as top gainers, rising up to 1.78%.
On the downside, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies were the only stocks trading marginally lower in early deals.

Buying was visible across the board, with all sectoral indices trading in the green:
